Drinking Water Issues

Water is life. An adult can survive without food a few weeks, but human body can't go more than a few days without water. Yet 1.1 billion people do not have access to safe water and 2.4 billion are without sanitation... Intelligentsia raises awareness in various local as well as international communities by helping to educate involved citizens, build water wells, fund water conservation projects or install sanitation systems.

As an front-runner, Intelligentsia in cooperation with Rotary International, CARE International and SilkRoad Science & Engineering initiated a development project to design and construct drinking water and sanitation systems in Central Asia region.

Intelligentsia's program participants in Florida have presented the project objectives and achievements to many Rotary clubs and raised more than $100,000 in donations and grants. This money is being used for purchasing water supply system materials in Tajikistan and other post-Soviet republics of Central Asia.

Whether you are interested in raising awareness within a community of Rotarians, developing proposals for a large-scale corporate sponsor, improving an engineering handbooks on water project implementation or contributing to other aspects of this international project, we will surely have an assignment for you, through which you can and will make a meaningful contribution to this international humanitarian service.
