Arrival/Departure

It is best if you arrive to Ft. Myers airport (airport code RSW).  Many students get delayed in their arrival because of various factors (missed connections, bad weather, etc.), therefore you must give us an update call from your transitional airport (if any) prior to your actual arrival to Ft. Myers. This will assure that someone from our office drives to the airport to pick you up right upon your arrival there.  You will be provided with transportation from the Ft. Myers airport to LaBelle at no cost to you, but it can be arranged only during reasonable hours - 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM. In Ft. Myers airport, we will meet you by Exit Door #1, so please be sure to wait there. Also, plan your flight for a weekday (Mon - Fri), not a weekend day (Sat - Sun). If you miss the phone call from your transitional airport, then the waiting time will be approximately 1-2 hours after you make the phone call directly from Ft. Myers airport.

Please call until you speak to an actual person, don't just leave a message.

Also, there is free wi-fi in the RSW airport, so you can use it while waiting for your ride.

Getting from Miami to LaBelle
If you unable to arrive at the Ft. Myers airport and you instead arrive at the Miami airport, then you should plan on taking the Greyhound bus from Miami to LaBelle. There is 1 bus per day that takes this route. 

Upon arrival to Miami airport, you may simply want to take a taxi cab directly to the Greyhound station. The bus from Miami to LaBelle departs the Greyhound station "Miami" (4111 NW 27th street) at 2:30 PM and arrives to LaBelle at around 6:30 PM.

Depending on your arrival time to Miami airport, you may need to stay one night in Miami at some inexpensive youth hostel on Miami's famous South Beach. Enjoy the beach and night life and then on the next day take the bus to LaBelle.

If you decide to stay a day (or two) in Miami before traveling to LaBelle, then you will need to get from the airport to a youth hostel. You can easily get from the Miami airport to the city or Miami Beach by various transport methods.  Miami routes map is available (along with complete system information) at the main transportation web page.

If you arrive to Miami airport and absolutely can't use the bus service to LaBelle, then you can, as a last resort, request that III sends a car to pick you up.  However, the fee for this service is $150 per trip and you will need to wait approximately 3 hours after your arrival for the car to arrive and pick you up.  Another $150 fee will be assessed for students requesting transportation from LaBelle back to their departure airport other than Fort Myers upon completion of the program.  Even if you are seeking to pay this $150 airport fee, it is not guaranteed that this can be arranged. You must make an inquiry to the program administrator in advance.

Departure
Departure transportation will be provided only during reasonable hours - 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM.

There is no charge for transportation to or from the Ft. Myers airport or bus station for initial arrival or final departure, if your arrival and departure dates are in accordance with your signed agreement dates.

We do not normally provide airport transportation for personal holiday travel, but this can sometimes be arranged through your fellow participants. There is also service available through GoodWheels (239-768-6184), Uber or local cabs and airport shuttles.

A $150 fee will be assessed for students requesting transportation from LaBelle back to their departure airport upon completion of the program, if that airport is any other than Ft. Myers. Even if you are seeking to pay this $150 airport fee, it is not guaranteed that this can be arranged. You must make an inquiry to the program administrator in advance.

Any departure sooner than 3 days prior to the stated "acceptance agreement" date constitutes a breach of the program agreement. A maximum or 50% of make up hours or 20 hours, whichever is less, may be used for early departure allowance. Earlier departures will have a negative effect on your final evaluation grades. Likewise, for early departure transportation from office to the airport will not be provided from the program.
